Information Architecture
Information Architecture is essentially an outline of the pages and content that will make up your site. It's the first step in creating and designing a new site, to make the content on your site appear in a way that is intuitive to the user.
The philosophy of IA is not systematic, yet a combination of art and science. There are many ways in which information can be organized within your website, but it's important to figure out how to do it best, so that it provides the information in a way that is easy for the user to navigate and obtain.
Outlining the architecture in the initial stages of planning your site will help facilitate the design. We want to create a design composition that includes the appropriate primary and utility levels of navigation. We meet with our clients prior to designing a composition to make sure we understand the hierarchy of information and how to provide the most beneficial and intuitive experience to the user.
